"A Kiddie's Kitty" (Friz Freleng, 1955) marked the debut (and only animated appearance) of Suzanne, a little girl who literally loved her toys and pets to death. Suzanne had a brief run in various Looney Tunes/Merrie Melodies comic books shortly afterward, in which she was part of a "Peanuts"-like group of kids. Director Friz Freleng disliked the character of Elmer Fudd, at least as a foil for Bugs Bunny. He viewed Fudd as a "simpleton", and thought Bugs came off as a bully when facing him. In the 1950's, Freleng found potential in pairing Elmer with other characters, including the Goofy Gophers in this often-overlooked gem "Pests For Guests" (1955). Friz Freleng really liked to make cartoons about insects. He once drew the ire of Bing Crosby when he caricatured him as a fly in "Bingo Crosbyana" (1936).
